That Is How I Cope Poem by James Hunter

That Is How I Cope

I look outside and see the tree
I planted when you passed
It is so big and full of life
Like I know you would have been
I care for it as I did for you
My love I will forever give
Food and water, gentle talk
So we both can live
Your memory is so bitter sweet
I smile and cry at the same time
I laugh then fall down on my knees
Such pain, yet so sublime
We never got to say goodbye
This torments me thru the years
That single statement never made
Has filled my days and nights with tears
I await the day we meet again
My Love and Faith provide me Hope
I know you seek this moment too
And that is how I cope
