Temptation Poem by W.I. Stoneberger

Temptation

was a toy
to be played with
to be batted around
to hold in the hands
& have fun with

it was tossed & caught
& tossed back
- a hot potato
it was kicked out of boredom
- a soda can

tag chasing it
just out of reach
back to base
when it came too close
taking its doubledares
& damned if you didn't
it was a child's game
getting away
without getting caught
home free.
