Surfaced Issues Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Surfaced Issues

Impossible it is,
For anyone one person...
To fix.
Surfaced issues and problems,
Allowed to go ignored.
By those continually placing blame,
On others to take responsibility.
For an ongoing inability,
By the very ones...
Who refuse to face the cause of it.

If disparities are known.
And recognized to be shown.
Would this be a reason,
To remain undisciplined.
Unmotivated and lack initiative?

If bigotry and racism,
Has been historically represented.
Should this caused effective self hatred.
And one to choose to display ignorance,
Routinely on a daily basis.
With a wish to receive empathy.
Without dignity or an identity,
To keep a self respect.
Without neglect kept.

If disparities are known.
And recognized to be shown.
Would this be a reason,
To remain undisciplined.
Unmotivated and lack initiative.
Should this give anyone cause to inflict,
Upon themselves, neighbors and relatives...
Evil and wickedness to have it exist.
Would these realities be any different,
If equality was permitted.
And this admitted.
Would this equality reflect,
Change in one's quality of life?

Or...
Would this be an imitation,
Of what is already there.
With more involved.
Caring less about their blessings.
And pretending to have faith in God.
When few have asked God faithfully,
To solve all their problems.
They themselves,
Can debate!
But can not face to have had created.
