In U.S.A., smoke alarms are wide-spread,
used, in case of fire, to stir you out of bed,
from the cozy comfort needed to restore …..
your body ‘and mind' for tomorrow's MORE …
of life!
Building inspectors can decree: "They are required!
Not only battery-operated, but ALSO hard-wired ….
into a home's electrical system for sure! ! "
[For "alarms" (and YOU)there is only one Sure Cure …..
to get a good night's sleep.]:
Six Easy-To-Follow Steps To Smoke Alarm Removal (and maybe death) :
1 - Get a ladder; don't stand on any old chair.
2 - Remove the battery, …IF you can find WHERE …
…..it is!
3 - Next, detach alarm from its ceiling mounting.
Come on!All ‘sleepers', on YOU, are "counting"!
[Do it RIGHT! ]
[If you've not fallen and broken a leg just yet, ] …..
4 - ….disconnect wires to shut power off.‘You bet'!
5 - That done, it's ‘better' to ‘cap' bare wires in ceiling,
OR "take your chances", if that's more APPEALING …..
….to YOU![you ARE "the BOSS"! ]
6 - Then you can reattach to ceiling mount,
so alarm "LOOKS" connected.[Appearances, to some, …..
DOES ‘count'.]
NOTE WELL:CAUTION! CUIDADO!
BUT if you live in apartment, your ‘trick' may not ‘work',
if the landlord/lady checks and decides to be a Jerk ….
…and overrule you!
THEN "s/he" may inspect MORE often, find MORE that you are ….. hiding,
and YOU could find yourself EVICTED aka homeless, by a railroad siding!
We (I)just disconnected 4 alarms here, as per above,
……to please my wife.Now NONE ‘chirp'...like a dove.
Sure, we may succumb to smoke-inhalation.We MAY.
BUT, no (new)batteries needed to be bought.Hip Hip Hooray! $! $!

Please publish the address where your funeral will be so that I can come pay my last respects to your charred remains.
(cont.) ....I URGE all listeners to use them 'appropriately' AND, if you should decide to disconnect, remember to just remove batteries and switch smoke alarmS-circuit breaker switch (in circuit breaker box) to OFF. OR, if your home is REALLY outdated, unscrew the fuse for their circuit [in the fuse box]. bri :) p.s. don't use a penny to replace a burned-out fuse! ! ! you may need a fire department then.
(cont.) ....ok, mostly that's all i wanted to say, BUT.....................let me ALSO SAY: Smoke alarms can be important. especially to the companies who make them AND 9-volt batteries! ! ! (cont.) ..
sorry, Gino, no snake alarm planned at this time, and, Kelly, you'll have to wait awhile for my immolation (?): gas prices have risen drastically from a few months ago. SORRY! but, HERE'S WHAT I REALLY WANT TO TELL MY READERS: I SINCERELY PLAN TO GO BUY BATTERIES (MAYBE THIS WEEK) AND GET ALL FOUR ALARMS BACK IN SHAPE. ONE FELL OFF THE CEILING WHEN I WASN'T AROUND......[WIFE HEARD 'CRASH'; THOUGHT IT A RAT IN THE KITCHEN, MESSIN' AROUND! ; IT WASN'T...THIS TIME]]. (cont.) ....
Yes, but do you have a snake alarm? A big slitherer slithered out of someone's toilet here in Florida. Suppose that happened when you were sitting on the toilet. Cardiac arrest! Someone with your inventive mind should create a digital snake alarm!
Gino, I've no need for an [snake] alarm! Snakes never do ME any harm. It's the SNAKES may need one... to alert THEM to me (yes, to Bri) , 'cause once, with them, i am done, they'll regret our meeting & say Bye, Bri! bri ;)

I would like to translate this poem
A wonderful poem Bri. But I think it should not be encouraged if one considers safety. Isn't there a way to turn the alarm after it goes off? I enjoyed this.10
Nudershada, the chirping (which a dove probably would NOT make; maybe a robin would) i think was due to a connected battery, in one alarm, becoming WEAK. the chirping is to alert the occupant(s) to replace the battery, NOT to remove it and leave none, OR to disconnect the wires! my mate's ears are too sensitive; i would just have pretended it was a bird, and i like to hear chirping birds, though my slight hearing 'loss' prevents that at times! ; ( (cont.)
(cont.) the ALARM would be MUCH LOUDER than the chirping! and, yes, there is a button (on the alarm) that can be..........[INCONVENIENTLY, for some; make that 'many']...........pushed to shut off the alarm. (cont.)
(cont.) ...then one could go back to sleep or? if the smoke had dissipated enough near the alarm. waving a fan or large dinner plate or industrial-strength vacuum cleaner nozzle around the alarm can speed smoke dissipation! thanks for your thoughtful comment. bri ;)
