Sleep Little Baby Poem by Walterrean Salley

Sleep Little Baby

Rating: 5.0

Sleep little baby, sleep tonight.
Smile—be happy with never a fright.
Lay in my arms and gently rest;
To soothe your brow, I will caress.

Sleep little baby, sleep till the morn.
Sweet be thy dreams, smiles to adorn.
Rest in my bosom sleep thro' the night
Till dawn arises with a kiss of light.

I am right here, you're never alone;
And I'll be there till the dark is gone.
I will be there to right every wrong,
To calm you with words and a song.

Sleep little babe, sleep well tonight—
With never a worry and never a fright.

I truly love this one very much. A sweet baby in the loving arms of a mother or grandmother, sleeping with sweet smiles on his lovely face. While reading the poem the image comes so vividly to the mind. Poetry at it very best.
