Simple Verse.17.On A Swing

Rating: 5.0

In this beautiful month of May
At this early hours of the day
Watch the sun after his sleep at night
Coming out slowly, dazzling bright

As I see those birds in the air
How I long for a sky so fair
Let us go up on a swing
As we don't have a pair of wing

Do not waver and waste this day
Nobody always gets his way
Let us go to the heavens high
And touch the trees towering nigh

Up on the swing, let us sing
Over the valley let it ring
Come on, let us, into the bluer sky
Soar like a pair of butterfly

So sweet is the passing air
How it tickles our curly hair
We shall watch the verdure spread
And the flowers in pretty colours clad

Let us float like a moving cloud
Far from the crowd, we would laugh out loud
Who would such an experience miss?
Who wouldn't such a chance kiss?

All the stars that shine in the sky
Once were children who went up high
It would make me truly glad
If into a shining star, I be made

Beautifully written Valsa. I could picture myself on the swing. Near my home there is a swing right by the beach and when it is empty I fill the seat. Never to old. Thankx

In my comment on the poem TRIALS i referred to the need to balance effort with levity, so that the demands of life are answered but also the joys are fulfilled. This poems speaks directly to those joys. It is so light, deligtful, infectious. Who in their balanced mind would reject such joys in the name of higher good? These joys ARE the higher good, and all we need to do is pace ourselves so that we can pursue them.
