Simple Verse.16.On A Sunny Day Poem by Valsa George

Simple Verse.16.On A Sunny Day

Rating: 4.6

Lo, after the dull and rainy day
Has dawned a bright and sunny day
Stop my friends, your indoor play
Into the country side, let us stray

We shall watch the beauty on our way
Listen to the songs of merry Jay
Enjoy the flowers on every tree
Dancing with the wind in amorous glee

Let us sing a merry song
As we walk joyfully along
Let us wander all day long
As to the rural folk we belong

Far into the woods we shall go
Where there graze, the deer and doe
We may spot the fawn at play
Down the hills a little away

We will watch the birds that fly
Up and up into the farther sky
Also squirrels that bark on trees
And listen to the hum of honeybees

Let us inch our way to the hill
With safe steps and rising thrill
Leaving behind the dust and dirt
Taking breaks in every leafy covert

We shall go down the valley below
Where the trees are planted in a row
Some are laden with juicy plum
Shall pluck and eat them yum, yum, yum!

Can I bring my iPad along in case I get bored? Will we have WiFi on the walk? Ha! You really are a country woman at heart aren't you Valsa? There is a simplicity of spirit in you that comes across as being so gentle and wise in spite of your poet's heart. It is hard to imagine ever really needing anything modern in your company.

Thanks for this beautiful and poetic invitation but I am too old now to sing and dance and play. However I would welcome your video on the Face Book and enjoy the beauty of your enjoyments. Are you sharing a video?

Also the sparrows which chirp on the trees.....the species are not seen regularly as before. Sparrows were in my child-hood days, now only in dream we get its chirps.

We often enjoy the beauties of nature like bright sunny day, different color of flowers on the trees, hum of honey bees, dancing of leaves with wind in amorous glee and the hill with rising thrill etc. A heart touching expression has been made. Brilliant poem amazingly shared.10
