Simple Verse.18.Reparation Poem by Valsa George

Simple Verse.18.Reparation

Rating: 5.0

Like heavy boots on empty streets
His harsh words rang in my ears
Never has he been so very rude
Why did he my heart pierce?

The whole night I lay sleepless
How much of tears I had shed
Felt as if suddenly thrown on a desolate isle
With pain, my face was swollen and red

Next morning seeing my puffed up face
He asked so very concerned
‘Did you have your usual migraine?
You look so tired and worried'

He seems to have forgotten all that he said
Gently applying balm on my forehead
In a tone of assurance, he said, "Don't worry
In no time all your pain will be fled"

My mind so tangled and messy earlier
Became suddenly calm and slow
When I felt his hand upon my brow,
From my eyes, tears of joy began to flow!

A poet becomes a magician when his reader starts seeing himself in a poem. Several times it happened that I saw my personal life in the poems of Valsa. I have started believing Valsa is a great magician or one may say a true poetess of life..................10

I can relate to this one, it does happen, kind words and kind gesture can help to ameliorate ill feelings and erase sour moments of past, thanks for sharing :)

A heart touching poem. Loved the metaphor. Our lives full with friction but a loving and kind gesture erases the pain like magic. Thanks for sharing.

It is very important that we cultivate in us the habit of forgiving and forgetting. A brilliant poem, as always, from Valsa ji touching upon the mundane affairs of life.10/10

Love has a slower but surer pace.. The magical effect of love upon human minds is indelible. A poem that is notable for its purpose and perpetuity of theme. Thank you Valsa madam for this sharing.

Callous words draw tears and cause so much pain, but the touch of love, of forgiveness, draws embalming love. Loving can be a painful experience at times but with it comes the mystical healing that is deep and profound. A portray of love. Beautifully written.

The speaker has been deeply hurt by a man who simply doesn't understand the impact of his. This isn't the kind of disagreement over household or even family issues, but something which, as she tells us, affected her on the heart level. So she needs healing, and part of that should be an apology, or some kind of awareness by him. But that will not happen yet. This man needs a compassionate couselor who weill help understand - well, you know well enough. The surprise of the poem is that sleep and her psychological reflection and some undefined spiritual current heal her by the next day so that she is well, balanced and poised the next morning. But there are unresolved issues!
