Save Thy Angels Poem by Muhiba Naik

Save Thy Angels

Rating: 4.5

A bread they share
Benevolently
Broken bits come like feast
With water or tea
A meal complete

Kicked in butt
Serving their masters
Humbly
Performing the illegal
So lawfully
Not a tear they drop
Facing abuse
Never speak of grief
They suffered
Starved these dutiful dociles
Robbed off their tender days
Still smile in pain
These Angelic souls
Unaware of past
These anonymous mates
Insecured in perilous hands
They live with dreams in their eyes
Even their death comes stealthily
Burying them in dust of time

Or is it I so mean
Occupied with sordid tasks
While they get bullied
I watch -mute
I see them crave for joy
Cleaning tables they smile
Dreaming of days
When they shall be free,
'Roaming on streets
Not to beg but
playing games they enjoy;
Hearing parents' voice
Calling them to be home on time'
