Rock Me To Sleep Poem by Edwina Reizer

Rock Me To Sleep

Rock me to sleep like a babe again.
Cradle me in your arms.
‘Tis been so long since I have felt
protected from earthly harms.

Rock me to sleep like a babe once more.
Glide me to and fro.
Take my cares and troubles away.
To the fair winds let them blow.

Rock me to sleep like a babe that’s small.
Swathe me in a blanket so tight.
Sing me a lullaby so sweet.
Enchant me with sounds at night.

All these things I remember now
from when there was no you.
Now all the rocking that I need
is not something you can do.
