Rhetoric Substance Free Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Rhetoric Substance Free

Persuasive, effective.
Entertaining to amuse.
And no one subjected,
To this substance free rhetoric.
Seems bothered or affected,
By the absence of content.
Or the threat that ignoring it,
On their doorsteps could bring.
Yet crowded together,
As if sardines cheering to be fed...
To hungry sharks.
Strolling through the crowd,
Masked, laughing and joking.
While poking a few attending the rally,
With forks and knives.
Deciding which ones to pick and eat.
From a diversity of assorted meat.

"I'm loving the touch,
Of your supple and dimpled butt! "

-EXCUSE ME? ! -

"I apologize.
Please forgive me.
You must be still going through,
The tenderizing process.
My bad.
But let me assure you of this,
You have potential.
And when you are convinced,
The opposition makes no sense.
I'll be here.
Nibbling on your donation.
Slowly and licking lips."

-Security! !
SECURITY! ! ! -

"SSSSHHHH.
Calm down.
I am your security, baby.
Trust in me and free your mind."

-Well...
Since you put it that way,
Okay!
You make the doing seem too easy.-

"No!
You deserve all the credit.
Although I will admit,
Of taking advantage of your unselfishness."
