Reminiscence-1 Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Reminiscence-1

Reminiscence-1

An evening star appears;
And goes my silence deeper,
Stirs my memories bare
Those happy days of yore,
I seek a lonely place,
Along the shore,
Where we walked together,
Your words dropped into my heart,
Your words echoed in my ear,
I seem to hear,
As if waves say you are here,
And in the park we sat hours together,
Your kisses fell sharp on my flesh,
Your words once spoken there,
Beneath the trees green and lush,
Wherever your feet wandered,
To me, dearest is every place,
But now gone are the leaves,
Gone are your smiles,
And I find remains of crushed heart,
Through the years nothing cheers,
Cold and dry are becoming its sides,
So welcome, gentle autumn breeze,
Sway sweet memories in my tranquil mind,
That in a broken heart,
You remain always my happy days......

Nostalgic reminiscences of good old days keep haunting us.... obviouly a boon! In days of gloom, these memories act as tonic to our weary spirits! I enjoyed this excursion into the past of great beauty and fulfillment! !
