Reminiscence Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Reminiscence

Reminiscence

Particles wafting in air;
Softly descending on,
Curtains, wardrobes, shelves,
Dressing-tables and beds,
I dust them off,
Only to see them smear,
On your portrait,
Set in a golden frame,
And on your muslins
Shawls and dresses,
Robes and jewel-cases,
They seem set in
Like a dwelling place,
Though into my
Sweet memories,
I try not to let them
Drift and dirty.
Dreams, flowers and vases,
All taken care of,
While dusting them off,
I stretch out my hands,
To garland the portrait,
And lips to kiss a bit,
Only to find dusts and bits…….
