Remembering Days Of Family Togetherness Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Remembering Days Of Family Togetherness

Riding on imaginational coastal memories of joy, peace and happiness in Wildwood, New Jersey when very young and impressionable.

Remembering those days of family togetherness with a smile, yet with a deep sadness within for those days are long gone, along with our parents and relatives.

Every summer our parents would take us to Wildwood for a week, always the best part of our summer vacations with no school work to worry about.

Playing in the Atlantic Ocean, building sand castles, body surfing, looking out to sea and dreaming, while feeling the pull of waves rising and crashing on shore and our beings.

Ebbing and flowing with our feelings and emotions, stilling our minds and hearts in an oceanic peace and strength, giving our hearts a spirituality we'd never have gotten otherwise.

Thanks to Mom and Dad, our young lives were provided with these special moments of family and nature, being grateful for every moment we spent there together.

Those memories will never be forgotten, forever etched in our minds, especially this mere poet's, as a photographic mind is enticed to write about it all through poetry.

Keeping the past in the present in this special way, being grateful for these special moments and gifts that can be repeated throughout this temporary life on earth in memories.
