Poetry Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Rating: 5.0

When the poetry stops
My heart will still
Can say of life
I've had my fill

Devoid of the words
That gives rise to thought
Emotions, feelings
Memories lost

Grief, pain and misery
Things that make you blue
Love, laughter, silliness
Feel good things too

Poems touch the heart
And help you see
Give meaning and understanding
To you and me

An insightful depiction of the true essence of poetry written in persuasive expressions with conviction. Thanks for sharing.

I seldom rate poems on this site, but had to give this one a ten as it so sincerely moved something deep in my heart. If I were attending a poetry workshop, this would be the first poem I would like everyone to read, simply for the feeling of what poetry at it's basic core is for. You have hit the ol' nail right square on the head. Superb.
