On The Mountain Poem by Ontomu William

On The Mountain

My Help comes from the Mountain the Highest of all Heights
What the mountain conceal I comprehend not but God does
Whenever He wanted to pray The Lord climbed the Mountain
Why did the Israelites refuse to look at the burning mountain?
And instead asked Moses to speak to God from the mountain!

Remember the Transfiguration took place on the Mountain
Oh the power, and the glory and the glamour on the mountain!
But Alas! The Lord Jesus Himself was tempted on the Mountain
But see, He could not fall for He always looked to the Mountain
He knew where His Energy came from, and God ne'er left Him

Remember the sons of the prophets climbing the Mountain?
And searching for the man of God Elijah but found him not?
Brethren, I am unable to explain the power at The Mountain
Of which Peter says will melt all Elements with fervent heat
And dissolve the heavens with fire, Oh what great a power!

Zacchaeus had to climb the Sycamore fig tree to behold the Son
Dear Brethren, I am yet to learn what resides on the mountain
Remember Lot, how, running from the valley to the Mountain
And behold! The woman REMEMBERES Gomorrah and Sodom
And immediately she turns a monument, Can you just imagine!

Remember Olivet? Jesus choicest, Heaven was opened for Him
And Jesus was taken into Heaven as the men of Galilee gazed
My Prayer to My God, to help His people believe it was finished
That we REMEMBER no more and sin no more in His Mountain
For like the two angels in White apparels, He will appear again

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
There is power on the mountain, and while on the mountain, lets remember that it was finished on the cross.
Jesus was always praying, He was not playing.
Every time He would separate Himself and go the mountain to talk to His Father, our Father.

How I desire that we also take time with God, to talk with Him and remember our past no more which tries to pull us down and discourage us and make us feel 'down' and yet God has already cleansed and elevated us!
Be blessed.
