My Last Prayer Poem by Heather Burns

My Last Prayer

Rating: 5.0

As I look toward heaven
and my earthly journey
is ending
GOD grant me the pleasure
of one last request.

Father as I approach the
light
be there waiting for me
when I see your face
the journey will be all
worthwhile.

Mother wait for us, we
will meet you on the
silver shore
gaze at the crystal sea
together.

Then approach the golden
gate
my brothers waiting
along with sweet
connections of
yesterday
together once more
It will be a glorious
meeting.

Something we all wish for - who knows, maybe we shall meet our lost loved ones again. A beautiful poem with a great sentiment.

as a poetic thought it's very good, as an eternal journey it's wonderful and as a blissful meeting it's great too, but it can be your prayer for the last phase of life, certainly not the last prayer...live long Ms. Burns, and keep writing short and beautiful poems of heart.! ! !

A really wonderful poem, really like this. It reminds me of one of my last poems I wrote before I had many years away from writing. It's called, Child In Your Arms. It's in my poems, you may like it. I wrote it for my sister when her baby sadly died.
