Miserly Thought Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Miserly Thought

Miserly thought why do you
Wish rise to so immense a height
To touch the sky and go beyond
To remain out of sight

Why do you like to be so free
And do not care to hear
What prompts you to fly away
From who loves you so dear

Miserly thought don’t you
Have shame to leave
The poor soul which lives a life
Only to repent and grieve

It needs heart of stone
To even dream of so high a flight
That needs wealth and strength
For you it’s not at all right

Miserly thought, stay calm
Tightly hold your wings down
Let the star shine in pale blue sky
Else you will end up as foolish clown
