Martin Luther King Was A Great Man... Today He Would Be Ashamed

Rating: 4.5

Martin Luther King
Was a great man
He had a vision and God's plan
He wanted equality
He wanted peace
He represented all the minorities
He represented God
He represented love
He represented truth
He represented dignity
If he were alive today
He would be ashamed of reaction in Ferguson
He would be ashamed of the violence
He would be ashamed of the riots
He would be ashamed of the looting
Martin Luther King
Was a great man
He had a vision and God's plan
He envisioned harmony
Among all men
He wanted black men to lead their families
Not leave their families
He wanted Black children to get an education
Not become gangsters
He wanted unity among the whites
Not wars in the streets
He wanted opportunities
Not incarcerations
If Martin Luther King
Was alive today
He would be ashamed
Martin Luther King
Was a great man
He represented God's kingdom

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Racism exists every where. Not just whites against blacks or blacks against whites. Martin Luther King was a man to truly admire and try to emulate. If we did peace would escalate.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Mankind has within him the capacity of reasoning and so he should try to inculcate the values of Martin Luther King as mentioned in your sweet poem. Since the current treasure island topic on PH is on ‘ Peace, ’ I invite you to read my poem entitled ‘ A Nice Wise Guy, ’ on PH
