Marriage is a vow that two people make
To honor and cherish and never forsake.
Two hearts entwined to become as one
With the blessings of Gods only son.
To accept all hardships that may come their way
And face it together day by day.
It is said two minds together are better than one
But two hearts and minds will always overcome.
There is no such thing as the perfect life
This you knew when you became husband and wife.
Women must be fruitful If children they could bare
And anointing them with love that you both share.
People may criticize in all that you do but to each
Other you must be true.
Be like the duck and let the water roll off your back
Whenever people try to attack.
This was a covenant that you both entered mind body and soul
To honor and protect and make each other whole.
In each obstacle there is a lesson to be learned
And your past bridges should not be burned.

Another spot-on poem about Marriage, by poet Louis Rams, who accurately depicts it. Someone once told me that in marriage, your joys are multiplied, while your sorrows are halved. What a shame that marriage, as an institution, is no longer in favour amongst much younger people. Because marriage still works, when done properly. Thank you for this wonderful poem, Louis! : -)

A thoughtfully envisioned song of life expressing the ideals to be cherished by life partners tied with the knot of marriage. A great message in the modern age when the very relationship if becoming more and more volatile under influences from social factors etc.10 points.
