List Poem by Charles Burgos

List

All the women in my past I tried to hit with an arrow
But through the years, that path has become narrow

You can try your hardest, to make them fall in love
Putting yourself out there, never to rise above

Laughing, joking, and trying to build
One spot open on the bed, never to be filled

You try, and try, until your sick of it all
Never lose hope, or then you'll fall

Everyone has something, while you may have nothing
That something could be me, that's just an assumption

I know I messed up by not being open
I thought it maybe you, I was just hoping

Our connection was strong, our lessons where tough
I just wanted you, but what I had, wasn't enough

Only when you were gone, you didn't see me cry
It stung more then ever, to see you with another guy

Life goes on, people go away, while nothing lasts forever
I moved on once, the spell you casted on me, that was clever

I hide my feelings behind my wall, that you wanted over, or in
I've tried not to tell you, I didn't want the hurt again

Wherever you go, whatever you do
Just so you know, I want nothing but the best for you

I have no idea about what else to say
Today is today, tomorrow, another day

Other guys want you, but you don't me
It's a lesson in life, that lesson is free

Memories we have, moments we share
I can say what I want, and you know I care

We can go through life, and never be missed
Just so know, your not a name on the list

I know you don't miss me, or even seem to care
We couldn't be together, nothing is fair

Your not a trophy, a milestone, or bad Oman
Your beautiful, smart, words can't describe the woman

We don't even talk, you or me
In the next life we might, who knows, we'll see
