Life Keeps Slippin' Away Poem by Edwina Reizer

Life Keeps Slippin' Away

Somewhere there's a beginning
and somewhere there's an end.
And in between you live your life
and finally ascend.
Some awaken. Some do not.
To me it's sad that they forgot
and let time slip away.

They do not find what life's about.
So when they leave they're filled with doubt.
They do not laugh enough it seems.
They do not have light-hearted dreams.
They do not find the harmony
that comes from living peacefully.
They keep their heart afraid to love
and never know what life's made of.

They miss the beauty in front of their eyes.
They ignore the stars and the midnight skies.
They disregard the rights of man
and refrain from helping when they can.
They condone others to live in pain
and allow someone's loss to be their gain.
And their life keeps slippin' away.

Somewhere there's a beginning
and somewhere there's an end
Think of these things while you're alive
my friend.
