Life, But Not Your Way Poem by Chloe Evangeline

Life, But Not Your Way

life
a different description
lying inside all of us
some say a living hell,
others say a heaven
depending on where we live
who we live with
and what we live by,
the world shifts
changing colors,
changing hues
changing perspective
never staying solid
my life
like a flower
a bud opens,
and the world is bright
the bud dies
and my heart sinks
way down back into the dark
where it waits for another bud to open
your life, whoever you are,
may be the same,
or that bud could be everlasting,
or there are no buds; no flowers
only a weepy willow
to tired of living to wave its branches in the wind
too sleepy to hold an upright posture
remember
this life, right here
its not the only one;
there are many more to come
your spirit will live on
and endure
as it has endured
for yesterday is the past
today the future
and tomorrow will never come
