Two Friends Poem by Chloe Evangeline

Two Friends

We talk,
smile,
knowing this isn't rushed.
A coffee shop after school,
sipping on overpriced drinks,
speaking of pointless things.
Being noisy,
loud in the quiet cafe.
Five now, time to leave.
We hug same as every day,
getting up and stretching reluctantly,
we can't remember what we
were talking about.
Friends forever?
Yes, he laughs,
Friends until the end of time.
Promise?
Yes, I promise,
unless you make me late!
We hook arms,
braced against the snow,
and walk into the gray.
Two candles burning bright.
