Less Lethal Projectiles In The Streets Poem by Hebert Logerie

Less Lethal Projectiles In The Streets

There is a war going in America
On racial injustice and police brutality
There is a biological warfare in America
Coronavirus Covid-19 kills indiscriminately
A semi-civil war is unfolding in America
An ugly war that America does not need currently
The police force is too militarized for the cities
The police force maims, hurts, brutalizes and bullies
Police are using less lethal projectiles
Which can travel for many feet, many miles
To neutralize, paralyze, incapacitate and destroy
And even kill protesters in the streets
A baton is a weapon and a gun is not a toy
We need to stop the violence. Beets
Are red and human blood is precious
Life is precious and violence is dangerous
Rubber bullets hurt, sting balls grenades hurt
Tears gas hurts, kinetic impact projectiles hurt
Grenades hurt and kill, pepper balls hurt
And hard rubber bullets hurt. Why most of the police
Are white? Do they belong to a hate group?
Why do the police support the racists?
Do the police drink the racist Kool-Aid and the soup?
We are baffled and shocked by their conducts
They behave like wild dogs and vile ducks
A war is being fought in the streets of America
Stop all violence everywhere! Stop the traumata!

P.S. This poem is dedicated to the victims of all kinds of violence
and to the protesters in the streets of the world.
