In Their Heart Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

In Their Heart

Rating: 5.0

'God asked me to have any favor
“Grant me place in their heart” I murmured
Let that fragrance be spread to all over
Then I shall need no prestige or honor

I shook head in disbelief
Was that some kind of recognition and relief?
I wondered over feelings
I felt great as an ordinary human being

Even almighty wants prayers
But what do I expect from poetry lovers?
Just a place to be remembered
And prove worthy for the honor offered

Even holy land demands sacrifice
That can me of any kind with full of promises
To shed tears over hunger and apathy
To see the exit of powerful and mighty

I got to be cautious for reaching peak
That shall be enjoyed not as weak
But as down to earth ordinary man
Not forgetting al weaknesses of human

I shall cherish memory
When stage may come to feel sorry
When I shall be no more in position
To write more for their consumption

I raise head and bow
That is just feeling now
I can’t say even thank you
As you all had only made me to pass through
