In Their Memory Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

In Their Memory

Eyes get wet
When we have yet to know their fate
How much suffering they underwent
So that we remain live and present

They sacrificed for freedom
It was their wisdom
To stand for bright future
And assure

Children are like garden flowers
They need care
Affectionate nurturing
And water pouring

They never thought of their existence
But made drive for insistence
To keep countrymen united
And positively stated

It was simple goal
To save people
From slavery yoke
Even though it was cruel joke

Freedom is dear
And sometimes its misuse is feared
Yet liberty and freedom remain two sides of the coin
And permanently remain linked

It never goes in vain
But gives us pain
In their memory
To feel always sorry

In Their Memory
