In Memory Of Sir Curley Poem by Patricia Gale

In Memory Of Sir Curley

Rating: 5.0

Beautiful brown mixed with black and white
Eyes that sparkled with the call of going out into nature
Faithful and loyal, true friendship

A darken morning you went out the door
Passed your boundaries not a sound was heard
Helpless and injured

A single insensitive human act
Left me crying and you fighting for your life
How could they just drive away, leave you there?

You tried to fight but time had taken its toll
Younger days had graced your eyes
And the canine pup had seen eleven years pass

I held you in my arms as he said there’s no hope
As your final breath was drawn
We said goodbye and my heart will never be the same

We moved to the country for room to run
Now you run heaven’s golden streets
I lost my best friend from one act from an insensitive human

I took you home to your final resting place
Beside your favorite spot, the big red barn
Near the garden where we played

I wonder this house empty and void
A piece of me lays out back near the big red barn
And your picture remains on the fireplace

In memory of Sir Curley who died April 18,2007
My friend and companion for eleven years
The most loyal German Shepherd a woman could have

Oh Patricia, i am so very sorry! How so attached we become to out beloved pets...they are out family...they are like our children-they are like our very best friend! I know what you are feeling and i am sending you love and empathy in my heart to you. Grieve not for him, but rather pray for the one who did not care enough to watch how they were driving...those thoughtless cold hearted ones that have no care but their own lives save for the life of a beautiful pet! God Bless You! Theo

Patricia I'm so sorry you lost your dear precious friend......my heart goes out to you.....blessings and healing.......I'm glad you two shared those years together, such wonderful memories, for always......his spirit shall be with you forever......and you shall be reunited in the meadow across the Rainbow Bridge....where my Georgie and my Rosie wait for me........ Love and hugs, D xxx

Patricia this touched my heart, as you know from my poems i am a dog lover, and i know your pain and i hurt for you, i know what it is like to lose your best loyal true friend. we lose our pets sooner enought without some bozo hitting them with their car. this is a great piece to your sir Curley, i will give this a ten and put it in my favorites.

I know how you feel Patricia, it has happened to me four times so far, and it doesn't get any easier. I have their photos on the walls, and I still love them all. They are very special. Lovely tribute to such a friend. Love Ernestine XXX
