I Spoke No Words Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Looked downwards
Offered no response
As situation was tense

Father was furious
I was failing continuous
He had high hopes
But I was flop

I used to fail each year
Sometimes with two attempts to clear
It was always with fear
I was used to harsh words in ears

Mother will come near
And gently whisper
“You are our future”
Make everything sure

Her words pierced through
She was an every inch true
I was inattentive and careless
It brought me shame on face

“I will study from now onwards”
I will prove through my deeds
I looked at mother and reassured
Small tears in corner appeared

I was now full fledged gentleman
In thought and in action complete human
I have to meet their high hopes
Now I am fully prepared to walk even on rope
