I Plead Guilty Of Loving You Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Plead Guilty Of Loving You

The very first time I saw you, I was in the city
I don't want to be specific for security reasons
You were with your mother and two female cousins
You were wearing a mini skirt.I found you trendy
And absolutely chic. Apparently, we were looking
For the same address.I was driving very, very slow
Suddenly, I saw you knocking at the exact location
That I needed.By the time that I find a legal parking
Somebody had opened up for you.Oh! I liked what I saw
I found you very classy and really up- to-date in fashion
Thank God, I also was well dressed.I went and knocked
At the same door. To my surprise, it was you who opened
For me.I said hello. I saw you shaking a bit. I tried to block
My feelings. That was love at the first sight. I felt sickened
And my heart sunk deep in my body. I tried to hide the sudden
Metamorphosis. You and I were the guests of a mutual friend
You were so beautiful; I was speechless.I gazed at your left hand
There was no ring. Facing so many emotions, I had to find a way
To be myself, to talk to you, to have a dialogue or a conversation
You were cool. We talked about the stadium near the Parkway
The currents events and other things that interest our imagination
That was a wonderful afternoon in the city! Somehow, I felt guilty
I felt guilty of falling in love too soon, guilty of loving you too quickly
I gave you too much power over me. You were the judge, the prosecutor
And I was a guilty defendant. I had to plead guilty like a sore looser
I plead guilty of loving you. And I was put on lifetime probation
To love you forever, to love you with zeal and sweet passion.
