I Once Loved You Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Once Loved You

Darling, I once loved you,
What remains now is friendship.
Gone is the massive hardship,
I feel free like an escaped cockatoo.

I have no regret,
And that's no secret.
I am no longer bitter;
I can truly breathe better.

My friend, I once love you,
Seeking the amenities of Heaven.
I once saw, with my own eyes, Satan,
Eating, at your doorstep, a honeydew.

Beloved, I once loved you,
That was a serious burden.
My dream was to find a haven,
In your heart, a place of rescue.

However, I was evidently wrong.
I don't want to play the old song;
I have moved on, I have flown on,
Without remorse, proud, and alone.

My dear, I once loved your style,
Which is now archaic and antiquated.
I have now on my face a gigantic smile.
I'm very happy, loved, content, and elated.
