Sitting under the tree I can
Imagine how nice it would be
If you come running from your
Home in the evening to be with me

To be with me to talk about
Love and things big and small
How wonderful it would be if
You sit close to me till nightfall

Night falls upon us slowly
And we hold each other tight
You pull my head to kiss the lips
With a smile in the fading light

Sitting under the tree I can
Imagine how nice it would be
When you sing a song of love
And like a surly bird you feel free

Your head on my lap with
Loose hair dancing like a tide
I can imagine under the moon
How we enjoy as groom and bride
