Humans, Wolves & Bears Poem by Elena Sandu

Humans, Wolves & Bears

Rating: 5.0

What? Are we the humans, angels?
Noo! Vampires in disguise which
tries to suck all living blood at night.
I tried to feel the wolves instead of bite
they shown themselves to be
most peaceful creatures
if not provoked or put in danger...
told me they worked to keep a nature's balance
No more...I heard complains
We see them less and less
as free as they were meant
the humans breeds. subdue, restrains
all of them to house pets
or even worse
keeps them in cage
in biggest city's circus
called The Zoo.
Watch out!
Here comes the bears
with the same fate...
What gives us right
to interfere?
Where are the angels
born in us?
How can we bring them
back to light?
How can we save the woods
and all those living souls
who works so hard to keep the earth
ALIVE?
Which is the way
for human to be strong
To gift all life with love
or... To destroy?

Where are the angels born in us? How can we bring them to light? ... These questions form the real essence of this stirring piece, so thought-provoking...a looking glass for the creatures apparently clad in human dress...it reminded me Blake's poem The Divine Image..your poem Elena is deep and wonderful..bcoz of its cruel but realistic metaphors.

an excellent piece of poetry, it seems most individual are now more in-touch and in-tune with their inner demons that the angel within has been locked out

Preservation of diversity of life is indeed necessary and your poem coveys the message nicely. The opening line of your poem viz 'What? Are we the humans, angels? ' is more interesting and i wish you had developed the thought further.

It is our duty as humans to protect wild life and let them roam freely in their natural habitat instead of caging them and destroying them! ! A great message, Elena! !
