Emotional Farewell To A Young Soul Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Emotional Farewell To A Young Soul

Rating: 4.7

You have done justice to the time
By letting me go free to roam the world
No more I am a selfish youth
Sheltered under your arms and watch
The time passing by in seconds and minutes

Outside in the courtyard the guava
Tree has grown beyond the height of our home
Its fruits are littering the rooftops
Parrots come in hordes to pick them
Scattering seeds across the floor

You have seen dreams in my eyes
And took risk when you said good bye
As I board the train to my dream destination
Patting me on my shoulders you
Saw tears in my eyes
Nothing is impossible you said as
The train blew the whistle and moved on

A deeply moving and touching poem that pinched the heart. Beautifully written.

I want to save this poem in my personal list but they seem to have done away with the provision that was available to us earlier.

One of the most emotional thing read by me since long. Reminds me of my own such moments. The song '500 Miles Away' comes to mind instantly. Thanks a lot.
