Distance - Between Poem by Smoky Hoss

Distance - Between

Rating: 4.9

There is a
Distance.

Between,
Mortality and eternity.

Distance.

Between,
God and humanity.

Distance.

Between.
So much,
So far;
The Universe and
The burning stars.

Distance.

Between,
Creator and creation;
Between,
All past and present relation.

Distance.

Between,
All living,
All dying;
Laughing and
Crying.

The distance - between,
The present scene, and
All that is unseen;
What's hiding, and
What's showing;
Where we are, and
Where we are going.

Smoky -this is a free verse style that gets something said, with profound utterance. Makes a fellow pause and think. The distance from here to eternity ia all to short- a great write

I saw a line in a poem that went something like, 'your heart is so close but I'm bleeding across the space separating us' and it blew me away. I think your poem contains a hidden mystical truth about space's secret effects upon the human being. He was not made to deal with huge spaces. He began life in a room that was only mere inches across. (smile)
