Dark Clouds Forming Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Dark Clouds Forming

Rating: 2.5

Children in cages
What can we do?
Open the doors
Let them through
Who cares about our homeless
In tents on the street?
Abandoned and hopeless
With nothing to eat
What of the people
With no money for rent?
Worried for their children
And what's happened to the money
Congress has spent
Our cities are crumbling
Quality of life going down
Why invite people in
When nobody's around?
Freedom of the Press
No, not anymore
Tell them to get out
As you slam the door
Summer is coming
Gonna be hot
Violence will erupt
Congress cares not
They sit in their house
All safe and secure
With plenty of guards
And troops galore
Dark clouds are forming
All across the land
Disenfranchised people
Will start to take a stand
Is a civil war brewing
That can't be stopped
Because of an out of control Congress
And an old crack-pot?
