Christmas Time Sadness Poem by Susan Thomas

Christmas Time Sadness

It's the Christmas time of year,
Time for all this holiday cheer.
I'll try not to shed a tear,
Knowing you live nowhere near.
I lost you all some time ago,
Now I can never watch you grow.
These holidays make me feel low,
I love you all, I hope you know.
The state won't give you back to me,
My love for you, they do not see.
We should be putting up our Christmas tree,
Instead, the state took you from me.
There's so much pain in missing you,
Crying is all that's left to do.
At Christmas time I boo hoo hoo,
For Cody, Brittani and JJ, too.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Missing a dear one is sad and the emotion is expressed well in this poem.
