Children Know You Very Well Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Children Know You Very Well

Rating: 5.0

Whether it's a jungle or human habitat
Within the world may not look so vast
And so confusing to an eye of a child as to us
If we were to dive deep
Into the ocean of wisdom
And fetch our children
The one most valuable pearl
For their golden future,
For strong and independent youths
Perfectly understandable
To handle the challenges of the world
Is practise what you want them to learn
Be what you want them to be
Do what you want them to do
Besides practising most important human values
As true compassion, Karma and truthfulness
And hypocrisy shall serve you to little purpose
Practise pretense and you do so at your own peril
Teach them to be religious and spiritual
Without it being too overpowering and confusing
Teaching rituals or preaching religion
Will somehow give our children strength and conviction
For it's an integral part of any culture
But there is more to life
Than cramming religious texts or stories
Spirituality can't be taught
It can only be practised
It can only ever be learned
Nothing teaches like experience
Don't tell, show and lecture
Practise, don't preach
If you are truth
They will follow you
They are your children after all
They know you very well
They observe
They assimilate
They absorb
They follow
