Chitter Chatter Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Chitter Chatter

Chitter Chatter
- - - - - - - - - -
The sky was white with gannets
And filled with their manic chatter
And to her it sounded of a raven brunet
In labyrinths of ominous minds
Dwells the juxtaposition of bad and good
Fueled by gossips with pride
Vultures spewed malice upon her
Then in their cubicle did they hide
Spoken were some words
Now spreading all around
A rumor filling their mouths
Like birds chirping aloud
She felt ineffably sick and spent
For she knew what they meant
But it was too hard
To listen and forget
And forgive them going past
A flame of gossip started small
Now spreading to gulp down her whole
But it does no good my dear
As gossips are chirping birds
Having preening wings to fly anywhere
So before putting them to fly
Hold on a minute
Put them to Triple Filter Test
Truth is the first
Goodness is next
Usefulness is the last but not the least
If what you want to spread
Is neither true, nor good
Not even useful
Why spread gossip malice at all

A fine poem with a unique thread to dwell on.... In a world of conventions and contradictions we have to be alerted of the gossips capable of damaging our peace of mind.... A write pondering over the situations in everyone`s life. Thank you for this share Pattanayakji..

'gossips are chirping birds having preening wings to fly anywhere'.........Once out of the tongue, it will spread like wild fire and burn down the good name of the prey! So before, letting rumours escape from the tongue, put it to 'Triple Filter Test'! A very sound advice expounded through a sweet poem! !
