Caught Poem by Chloe Evangeline

I am caught
between currents
everlasting
always pushing
never letting me rest
a screaming inside me
pounding, pounding
clawing at me
i cannot tell
they say i'm crazy,
depressed
I get so quiet sometimes
like i'm not even there
I've tried everything
cuts burn for a little
but not enough
banging my head
nothing stops the pounding
not letting me sleep
keeping me running
nobody on my side
trapped inside me,
there is a beast
a part of me, but not
nobody has ever seen it
because it is caught
between my feet and my head
and it will never escape
