Best Day Of Summer Poem by BrandEn Billy

Best Day Of Summer

Once upon a time in the crispy summer.
I sat around feeling like 'Oh bummer'
I had no friends to play with as they were all on vacation.
I'd ride my bike up and wait for them to return at the train station.
I was only a child of five. I thought they'd never return and I didn't know why.
This one day a boy stepped off and his name was Jose.
I immediately ran to him and asked him if he wanted to play.
He was oblidged so I showed him around the sleepy old town.
We then strolled into the woods and made us a place to settle down.
He showed me what plants I could eat and taught me a little spanish.
The I took him on down to the river and accidently showed him what a face plant is.
I strolled on home to introduce him to moma and show him the house.
We had to cross the stream, crawl over the fence and pass the cows.
When we got there I said 'Moma this is Jose' he is my new friend.
She looked at my smiling face with alot of worry and care.
She said 'Honey Child, it's okay to make pretend'
She hugged my neck and said 'But baby there's just nobody there.'
Well if Jose was real or not. He disappeared that very summer day.
But it was the best day I ever had and that's all there is to say.
