A Prisoner Of Love Poem by Daniel Pace

A Prisoner Of Love

Rating: 5.0

Bound in chains of sun swept fire,
Passion, longing, and a hearts desire
He wanted her, she didn't feel the same,
His insecurities fell to blame,
He would never be the same,
torn apart by the walls of shame,
His tears are empty, cold, and tart,
She is a blade, piercing his heart,
Mentally screaming, his eyes to the floor,
Never again to know the opening of his cell door,
Desperately searching for hope from above,
Trapped forever...A prisoner of love

It is an emotional journey akin to grief, unrequited love. Keats wrote with great passion on this subject and you have managed a very stirring piece yourself. I suppose love can rarely truly be equal and we endure a hit and miss period in our youth. You choose brave topics and choose well.

Love is a spiritual experience that affects one profoundly. It's a voyage of bliss - however, love is also both whimsical and temperamental, appearing unannounced and may leave without warning, if it's not nurtured at all times by couples involved. Beautiful depiction of tragedy in the bliss of love, elegantly penned in good diction with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Daniel.
