A Soul Of Sand Poem by Daniel Pace

A Soul Of Sand

If you could take out my soul,
And hold it in your hand,
It would feel quite cold,
And slip away like sand,
But if you didn't drop it and waited some more,
The particles of sand would reveal a white hot core
If you look at a persons face and never anything more,
You'll leave with sand and never get to see their blazing core,
Ifyou only give an hour, or possibly a day
To everyone you try to meet the sand won't slip away,
But if you care for a person, and help them feel alive,
The sands will surely slip away and that poor soul will thrive,
But the sand is not the same for all, it's not on a clock
For some the sand may take a year, or lifetime to get off,
It surelyis a pesky thing and only time can tell,
When a person will go from playing charades to actually doing well,
With a strong love anda good heart
You can cure anyone of the dark
Never give up cause there's sand in your way
Cause that sand will be gone someday
And that fiery core is beautiful and strong
Lighting the darkness all night long
Sheer willpower, and unstoppable force,
Smooth and warm unlike the sand, so corse,
That fire is their love, hopes, and their dreams
And all of the things the make life mean
It's hard to give people chances, sometimes it hurts,
But for some people it's a chore of great worth
So next time you see a soul covered in sand and think of running away?
Take the hard path, or at least consider it might be worth it to stay...
