Daniel Pace Poems

Bound in chains of sun swept fire,
Passion, longing, and a hearts desire
He wanted her, she didn't feel the same,
His insecurities fell to blame,
...

How can you shoot for the stars if the sky is the limit?
Why should I accept my flaws if I'm in it to win it?
They tell me I'm too old to laugh and play, and too young to understand
Some call me a kid and others say I'm a fine young man
...

I am the invisible man,
Wandering about with no purpose or plan,
Unspoken to, unnoticed, and never quite seen,
I walk the edges of reality like a vivid dream,
...

I am nothing, but an obsolete freak
Leading a life so petty and meek
I wander about, in my own little hell
Formed of the smiles of those doing well
...

It gets lonely here in paradise
Surrounded by stars, high above city lights
My spirit's as high as anyone could lift
As I lay on my cloud peacefully adrift
...

I pity the darkness out there all alone.
An outcast, unwanted, with no light to be shone
Everyone always trying to escape or run away
does the darkness get lonely when no one will stay?
...

In a city or murderers, crooks, and thieves
Where chivalry and honor were long past beliefs,
a man walked alone
with an expression of stone.
...

We were as perfect as perfect could be,
A near flawless song of harmony
On the outside a joy to behold,
However the whole story wasn't quite told
...

One day a man went walking down a grimy city street,
Seeing only the dark in everyone he'd meet
An all too common life style over-worked and stressed
A classic cynic who didn't see light or anything as blessed
...

I could make you cry with no more than a few words
I could turn my cheek at your suffering and hurt
I read you and see you for who you are
You can run or hide but you won't get far
...

If you could take out my soul,
And hold it in your hand,
It would feel quite cold,
And slip away like sand,
...

The Madness within me burns without light,
Like a roaring flame that's not at all bright,
It's always there within my chest,
It never leaves, though I protest,
...

If you've felt like you're never truly at home,
Lost in a world not quite your own,
Other people seeming as hard as stone,
Lost, afraid, and utterly alone
...

It hurts and sings, yet makes you sing
Shared through kisses or diamond rings,
Love is powerful and so complex
Everyone deserves love, and nothing less
...

Sometimes I feel like an arsonist
Burning every bridge within my midst
Various fuels, every bridge had a different one
But regardless of which it burned like a sun
...

If I were to confess my feelings for you, would it be in vain?
Should these thoughts be said aloud, or should I refrain?
If I confess my love for you would you feel the same?
Perhaps these thoughts are silly, what could I hope to gain?
...

Ice cream for when you remember back then,
Stomach-aching foods to feel something again
Plenty of water, replace the tears you've cried
When life kicked you down or a loved one died
...

Daniel Pace Biography

I've always had a passion for poetry but was never comfortable sharing my writings with other people. I suppose I'm sort of using this website as a medium for me to break out of my shell, and as encouragement to write more. If you are reading this I thank you for your understanding and most of all your support!)

A Prisoner Of Love

Bound in chains of sun swept fire,
Passion, longing, and a hearts desire
He wanted her, she didn't feel the same,
His insecurities fell to blame,
He would never be the same,
torn apart by the walls of shame,
His tears are empty, cold, and tart,
She is a blade, piercing his heart,
Mentally screaming, his eyes to the floor,
Never again to know the opening of his cell door,
Desperately searching for hope from above,
Trapped forever...A prisoner of love
