A PRAYER: FOR SHOWERING
OF HIS DIVINE LIGHT!
O Lord, let Your celestial light shower upon me,
Through Your blessed sun rays by day, -
And through Your star light and moonbeams by
night!
Cascading down like the sparkling and laughing
waterfall,
Yet never letting me stray way from Thy sight!
May it awaken within, - my soul in slumber, -
To rise and embrace this light of love and life!
May this rekindled soul - devoid of melody and
tune,
Like the seven-stringed-vena, strike-up a sparkling
melody of Thy praise, -
With its music vibrating through time and space!
May Your celestial light penetrate the dark recesses
of my mind and soul, -
To drive out all that is dross, all that is impure!
Thereby cleansing and enlightening and even more, -
Making me acceptable in Your kingdom of celestial
light!

Though the initial part was inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s poem,
the latter portions were inspired by Psalms of David; since both are
spontaneous out pouring of the human heart in Prayer! !
