A Happy Time Poem by Gillena Cox

A Happy Time

Rating: 4.8

A jolly time a happy time,
Of evergreen and bare branch lights;
When a smile cost less than a dime,
And the willing clink of a coin sounds;
Such a jolly time a happy time,
With winter winds and cooling breezes,
A season for every clime;
Cantors will sing the old and the new,
Celebrating in rhythm and rhyme;
The Son of God bringing joy to the world,
Christmas-time a happy time.

Gillena - Indeed, Christmas should be a happy time, Christ's birth and the world's salvation should be rejoiced every year. Let's hope we get peach on earth some Christmas too. Blessings - cheryl

You've bottled Christmas in a poem and that's an amazing thing. Many poems aspire to do as much but never fully succeed, unlike yours..(smile)

It is a delight to read this poem, Gillena, especially when we are soon approaching Advent and then Christmas. There is indeed a sense of joy in the expectation of this coming event. Thanks for painting the joy that is associated with this season.
