043011t Sharing Nature

spread wings muted scream
fish dangling its beak; lunch
trying to free, swim once more
sudden violent head shake
snuff life out of scaly creature
limp, bend like a bow, dripping

i sit by edges of lake watching
every creature has its purpose
even black crow up that tree
warning me always, mystery
let me throw my bait and sinker
if there's any dares; doubtful
