Eric The Viking Poems

Oh passerby, passerby
I know who you are passerby
You’re a doctor, a lawyer, a Sunday school teacher
You’re the mechanic that everyone trusts,
...

Darkness shares no light
For me- only splinters
From dirt and leaves they sow
My dwelling- of cellar smells
...

Deep is this wooded maze
Where deep within
The pack was made
Lore not spoken, not spoken
...

It was just a day, but a day, like any other day
That was until I heard him say, “It’s time to come with me”
Though my thoughts told me differently, I did not hesitate to agree
As if in a sleep I began to wander
...

I’ve come back to the pass
The place that rots me to the core
I’ve come back to the pass
As I’ve done many time before
...

Like a rain forest inside of me
Foliage covers my heart
Too dense for most to see
My roots they span a thousand lives
...

Somewhere in the world
The sun and moon are courting
They Dance
They Sing
...

And comes the chilly air of night
Where the dark and dreary play
The blood soaked canine teeth,
Are attaching to their prey
...

Happens as the leaves turn red
Albeit a horrific delight
Leading lost souls to finally bid adieu
Lanterns keep the streets lit bright
...

Time, flowing by and by
With sweat from the brow
And aging of the vine
As time passes by feverishly
...

I heard a young man talking
I do not know his name
Although I never saw him
I heard him just the same
...

Through the dark I’m told you can see a light
A candles glow that can seem so bright
Her spirit faltered for its weak
The murky waters are often bleak
...

I once had the pleasure of riding a cloud
Seeing the spectacle of differing towns
Streaming across the streams and lakes
Causing the fields of grass to shake
...

14.

What was, now, only makes one sigh
I hear the bustles from a community alive
Watching my feet as I walk the town
Having missed my chance to say goodbye
...

The dark bestowed a point in time
There was no reason, there was no rhyme
Like a cloud just driftin’ away
The cold wind blows where it may
...

Passerby

Oh passerby, passerby
I know who you are passerby
You’re a doctor, a lawyer, a Sunday school teacher
You’re the mechanic that everyone trusts,
A peddler, a criminal, a squatter in the gutter
You’re the rich that flaunts their money

Oh passerby, I know who you are
You’re terminally ill and wearing a smile
The blue collar worker making an honest pay
You’re a golden soul as bright as day
You’re a creature behind tempting eyes
And you’re the wife of a man that lies

Oh passerby, passerby
I know who you are passerby
I know who you are but betwixt to who am I
