Where I Belong Poem by Eric The Viking

Where I Belong

The dark bestowed a point in time
There was no reason, there was no rhyme
Like a cloud just driftin’ away
The cold wind blows where it may
The wreckage left from such a day
“A shell of a man, ” is what they would say
To the left a flower, to the right a letter
“I want this not”
A spiritless soul unwilling to go onward

The will, the will of a man,
If the will of the gods then I’ll be damned
Make fire and I’ll show you rain
What was stolen was stolen in vein
Why else would I be the one to remain?
Were the wrongs I done afforded to my pain?

These shadows have taken my house and home
The cold it settles from room to room
The deafening sound of silence fills the air
Yet her voice is the only thing I hear
What they call life is just a spec in time
This life I live is no life of mine
My life ended with my love dying
And my soul slumbered while my heart was crying

Now it’s time to carry on
Energy returned to where it belongs
My darling, my love, I sing unto thee
“Our love we’ll share for eternity”
And with a cold touch I am gone
Through the light I will travel, to where I belong
