You Saved Me Poem by Catlin Kehoe

You Saved Me

It is said that money can't buy happiness,
But I have to disagree.
Because my ticket to that carnival,
Didn't come for free.
You were standing in line,
In the shadow of the Ferris wheel.
And at the sight of you,
I can't describe how I started to feel.
It started in my feet, And traveled up to my chest.
My heart began to beat so hard,
I thought it could be seen through my vest.
Then something amazing happened,
You turned to me and waved.
It was then and there I realized,
That by you my heart was saved.

Before this day I believed,
That love so young was stupid.
But I guess I was shot,
By the one and only Cupid.
My heart was cold and dark,
From people tearing it apart.
But that all changed that night,
When I saw you in front of that open cart.
Like Moses from the Bible,
Who set the Israelites free.
You showed up and unchained my heart,
Girl, you saved me.
